The random word prompt for day two of creativity boot camp was picnic. Conveniently enough, I had already planned a picnic in Balboa Park for tomorrow (more on that in a minute), so I just took my picnic for a dry run in the yard and shot a few pictures this afternoon. I wonder what Bud and Fern thought when they looked out their window and saw me crouched in the yard setting up a picnic for two and then gulping down the "wine" from both glasses. (Not to ruin the romance of the little scene, but I used lemonade so I wouldn't have to open a bottle of wine...)
For my pretend picnic, I opened my book of Shakespearean sonnets to number 18, "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day...". Not my favorite, but it seemed apt for, well, a summer day. Tomorrow's real life picnic will also involve Shakespeare...Tom and I are going to see Taming of the Shrew at the Old Globe. I have been wanting to see a play there for a long time but have never followed through and purchased tickets, until now. I needed something to replace the Grand Canyon on my list since I am boycotting Arizona on account of how it is "the meth lab of democracy," so seeing a play at the Old Globe became item number six on the list.
More list updates tomorrow...
How was the show?
